Sponsors EcoMax Home Expo EcoKids
Adults
weren't the only ones learning at the EcoMAX HomeExpo
this year. The event had a new children's section, EcoKids,
sponsored by Legacy. The event aimed to increase children's
knowledge of the environment and help teach them about
what they can do, even as kids, to help protect it.
Children got to take part in various activities
including wind powered boat races, water pollution activities,
and a live animal show, just to name few.
The EcoMax Home Expo is an annual event
sponsored by MAX, Your Community Credit Union®.
The Expo works to provide real solutions for people
who want to make a positive difference in their lives
and in the Central Alabama River Region. The two-day
expo provided information, ideas, resources and products
to help Alabamians conserve energy, save money and live
healthier.
Education
Corporation of America Goes Green
In
an effort to get their employees excited about efforts
to conserve energy and improve the environment, Education
Corporation of America (ECA) recently kicked off its
corporate Go-Green initiative with an employee luncheon.
ECA is the parent company of Virginia College, Virginia
College Online, Culinard, and Golf Academy of America.
The program is starting with the corporate headquarters
and will expand to all campuses, encouraging employees
and students to be aware of some of the simple things
they can do to save energy.
Legacy's
own Stacey Little and Marijean Hadley were the guest
speakers at the event. Following their presentation,
ECA made a generous $1,000 donation to Legacy.
